Agrupamento de Escolas Abade de Baçal

Panoramica abade.jpg
The school is a general secondary school, with 1000 students (aged from 12 to 18). Its main curricula are connected with general studies in Sciences, Languages and Economics which aim the high education. They also have technical studies, in the new technologies and media area (where students deal a lot with general software and hardware, producing different kind of materials such as websites, digital photos and videos… - these students are from 15 to 18 years old). The school is located in an urban area in the northeast of Portugal. Bragança is a small city (not more than 25000 habitants) with large range of social classes. Although situated on the border with Spain, town is far from the capital of the country and students have a poor living link with crowded areas, and the challenging way of life of such areas. But they are eager to learn and to travel and they are eager to have the opportunity to meet other young people from Europe. This project would be a great opportunity for them to compare their actual strategies for their living environments with others. The school teachers are experienced ones and all at least with ten years of experience in teaching. Some of them have master degrees in ITC. Contact person and school project manager work part-time on school projects in very good collaboration with different teachers’ teams and school management members. Their tasks are to implement and help setting up different kind of projects with teachers and to take in charge all the administrative parts linked to smaller or European projects. The school teachers are experienced ones and all at least with ten years of experience in teaching. Some of them have master degrees in ITC and they have assessed a plan of replacement in case of unforeseen leaving. There is a kind of similar experience brought forward thanks to an Erasmus + KA1 “Environement in our everyday life: preserving biodiversity for a greener Future" which can be considered as a starter point to further develop this issue.
